For Admission in Hostel of Sardardham, Ahmedabad
Under the SardarDham Mission 2026, five key Focal point have been identified. In alignment with these Focal point, the construction of affordable and well-equipped hostels (institutes) is planned for 10,000 boys and girls of the Patidar community at an estimated cost of ₹1,000 crore.Details of the hostels, established so far, are provided below:
- P. N. Dungarani (Akaruwala) hostel for boys – 1
- Gopin hostel for boys – 2
- CA V. V. Patel – Gagjibhai Sutariya hostel for girls -1
- SRK hostel for girls – 2
Currently the hostel facilities can accommodate 1810 boys and girls.
There are three different admission categories for the hostels at Sardardham:
- Students of higher education (studying in colleges, universities)
- Students selected for the Civil services Centre & Skill Development Centre at Sardardham (students who are not residents of Ahmedabad)
- Working women of Patidar community
Admission Process for Hostels
There is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the admission of the students in hostels. The students who pass 12th standard, non-resident of Ahmedabad, who have taken admission at the colleges at Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar can apply for admissions. Details are as below:
- Admission process for College Students
Announcement for the vacancy in hostel is published on website of Sardardham (www.sardardham.org) and on social media.
The students who have passed 12th standard and studying in the college are admitted based on merit and available vacancy in the hostel.
The application can be submitted online before the last date as announced on the website.
The list of selected students is published after 5 days (from the last day of receiving application) on the website. The selected students are also informed through SMS/WhatsApp, individually.
The students are advised to visit the administrative office of Sardardham within 7 days (after the list is uploaded on the website) for verification of the documents. Those students who are yet to get admission in the college can reserve the seat by payment of INR 5000/- as deposit. This amount is adjusted against the fees of the hostel when the admission is confirmed.
The students have to submit the receipt of payment of fees to the college (as proof of admission) within 60 days with other required documents and get the admission confirmed. The admission stands cancelled in case the students fail to furnish such documents within the stipulated time limit of 60 days. The deposit amount is non-refundable in such cases.
The annual fee for the boys’ hostel is INR 40,000/- and for the girls’ hotel it is a token of INR 1/-. In both cases a deposit of INR 5000/- must be paid.
The hostels, at Sardardham, are not merely lodging & boarding facilities. As an institution it contributes to the character building, leadership development and holistic growth of the students. The residents of the hostels are expected to abide by the disciplinary rules and participate in various activities. The students must read the rules prior to getting admission in the hostel. The hostel students who do not pass the college examinations or their results are held back or get less than 55% marks are not allowed to continue their stay and their admission is cancelled.
The admission process for the hostels of Sardardham is merit based, it is carried out under the guidance and supervision of “Admission Committee”. The decision of the Committee is final.
- Hostel Admission for Civil Service Center students
The students who seek admission in Civil Service Center (competitive examinations or skill development) are advised to inquire about availability of hostel facilities during the admission process. They will be guided by the members of the administrative office.
- Admission to the hostel for working women:
To ensure that Patidar women working in local jobs can stay safely while pursuing their careers, limited accommodations are provided at the Sardar Dham Girls' Hostel in Ahmedabad. Based on availability, these facilities are offered to working women on a cost basis, including boarding and lodging services.
